Hospitality selfservice Table of contents
Research is currently underway to assess customer demand for enabling consumers to use a self-service hospitality app

This app is designed to make it easy for consumers to place orders with the hospitality department. This can be a first order, but also a follow-up order if, for example, they decide to order a second cup of coffee or tea. By starting with scanning a QR code, the consumer is directed to a website where the ordering process begins. Here, they can choose from hospitality items marked in RetailVista as available for self-service ordering. Payment is optionally possible via a PSP integration; initially, we will support Buckaroo and Stripe. However, it will also be possible to configure the website to allow payment afterwards, in which case payment must be made via mobile card terminal at delivery.

Once the order is complete and optionally paid, an order receipt is printed on a configured receipt printer. The receipt shows the table number from which the order originates, as well as a QR code. By scanning this QR code in RetailVista POS, the entire order is automatically loaded into the POS as a transaction, and any kitchen receipts will be printed when closing the transaction.

Of course, there are various commercial apps that partially support this ordering process, but the big advantage of the website we are developing is that it also includes loyalty card support (points collection) and that the printed transaction can be loaded into the RetailVista POS system as a transaction with just one action. This keeps all revenue in one place and allows the consumer to collect points across these purchases as well.

This hospitality self-service solution is delivered as a mobile website, which means consumers do not need to install anything on their phones. Fake orders can be prevented by requiring consumers to use the guest Wi-Fi hotspot in the hospitality area or by requiring payment at the time of ordering.
