Assigned stock

This type of stock is a subdivision of available stock and refers to inventory that is not directly sellable. For example, part of the stock of a certain pot that is used in a pot/plant combination.

By assigning this quantity to assigned stock, the total stock remains the same, but the available stock decreases. As a result, the amount of free sellable stock (which is also displayed on webshops) is lower, while your total stock value remains accurate. It is possible to have different kind of assigned stock types, like for example showroom and product combinations stock. One or more products marked as showroom stock are not meant to be sold during the season but have to remain part of the total stock so a correct total stock value can be calculated and displayed. The product combination stock is mostly used to create larger quantities of pot/plant combination which will be sold over time. The stock involved (especially the pots) can no longer be sold separately but again for a total stock value the stock should still be there. By using RetailVista Mobile to create pot/plant combinations, regular stock is automatically moved to assigned stock. And during the sale of a pot/plant combination, the assigned stock is reduced automatically.
